The 320 mA model is the compact option in the Optimus KNX power-supply range, dimensioned for smaller KNX lines — as a rule of thumb, comfortably powering line segments of up to around 32 bus devices. That makes it the natural choice for apartments, small villas, or individual sub-lines in a larger topology, where the full 640 mA capacity would go unused.

Like its bigger sibling, it generates the regulated SELV bus voltage with an integrated choke, protects against overload and short circuit, and recovers automatically after faults. If your line is planned to grow beyond ~30 devices — or you simply want headroom for future expansion — specify the Optimus 640 mA supply instead and keep the same wiring and DIN-rail footprint.
