KNX Secure IP router coupling KNX lines over Ethernet — encrypted backbone traffic plus KNXnet/IP tunnelling for remote ETS programming and diagnostics.
The Secure KNX IP Router links KNX lines over standard Ethernet, using the IP network as a fast backbone between floors, buildings, or distribution boards — and it does so with KNX Secure, encrypting backbone traffic so the automation network meets the security expectations of modern commercial projects and discerning villa owners alike.
Beyond line coupling with filter tables, it provides KNXnet/IP tunnelling interfaces, so integrators can program and diagnose the entire installation remotely through ETS without plugging into the bus. In multi-line UAE projects this single DIN-rail device typically replaces conventional line couplers while adding remote-commissioning capability — a practical upgrade for service contracts and phased fit-outs.
Secure and Efficient KNX Communication
With the KNX Secure feature, which can be activated through ETS, the OPT-IPR-121 provides secure data transmission over IP. It encrypts unsecured data on the KNX TP line and safely transfers it over the IP backbone. Thanks to tunneling support, it also protects interface connections against unauthorized access.
Flexible IP Configuration
The device’s IP address can be manually defined via ETS software or automatically assigned by a DHCP server. Fully compliant with the KNXnet/IP specification, the router securely performs both tunneling and routing functions.
Advanced Filtering and Caching
Equipped with an extended filter table for main group addresses (0–31), the device can temporarily store up to 150 telegrams. This enhances overall system performance and optimizes communication traffic.
Power Supply from KNX Line
It draws power directly from the KNX data bus without needing an external adapter, enabling easier installation and less wiring.
