Three bus-powered binary inputs sized for a flush-mounted back box — the compact way to bring a single switch point’s conventional contacts onto KNX.
The 3-channel version of the Optimus Universal Interface is the compact entry point of the OPT-UI range, sized to disappear into a standard flush-mounted back box behind a single switch or push-button. It converts up to three conventional dry contacts — wall switches, window contacts, or simple sensors — into fully addressable KNX inputs, making it the go-to choice for retrofitting individual rooms without rewiring.
Choose the 3-channel model when each mounting point only needs to capture one or two local switches; for pooling many contacts at a central junction or distribution point, step up to the 9-channel version instead. Each input is individually configurable in ETS for switching, dimming, blind control, or scene recall, and the interface is powered entirely from the KNX bus — no auxiliary supply required.
Each channel can be independently programmed as an input or output. In input mode, the device detects the status of the connected switch or contact and sends information in the appropriate KNX data type to the KNX bus.
With comprehensive parameter options, it offers a wide range of uses in both small- and large-scale building automation projects. So whether contact scanning is performed on activation or different contact types (maintained/momentary, N.O./N.C.) are used, the device provides maximum flexibility. It also has advanced functions such as transmitting different data types according to different press types (short/long).
